Founder & Managing Partner
Mr. Nambiar directs and manages an opportunistic investment portfolio with the goal of identifying unique risk-reward situations. He has significant experience overseeing successful execution of real estate development projects, including design, underwriting, financing, and asset management. Prior to the formation of HNCP, Mr. Nambiar was a Managing Director in the investment group at the Hunt organization, where he directed an opportunistic portfolio of direct investments. He has over fifteen years of experience in public and private real estate, during which he invested and managed over $3 Billion of assets. Mr. Nambiar was previously a Vice President at Hunt Realty Investments, responsible for Hunt’s credit investments in real estate. He also served as the portfolio manager for Presidio Investments, a leading CMBS, and structured products investor, where he was responsible for over $200 million of structured securities. He was also a member of the investment committee and helped form and operate Investcorp Credit Fund III, a CRE mezz lender. Prior to that, he was responsible for developing investment strategies, sourcing new operating partners, and overseeing several of the firm’s operating company investments. In addition, he also played a key role in the formation of Akard Street Partners, a $500 million investment partnership with the Teacher Retirement System of Texas. Mr. Nambiar earned an MBA from the University of Chicago with a focus on finance and economics, and an integrated masters in Urban Planning and Economics from the University of Texas at Austin, where he attended on a fellowship award. Mr. Nambiar was awarded the Cogburn Family Foundation Architecture and Urbanism Prize at UT Austin, and the American Alumni Association Award in Mumbai, India. He serves as chairman of the Board for ISW Academy, a private school for special needs children in Dallas. Additionally, he is actively involved in Young President’s Organization (YPO).
Vice President & Head of Hotel Asset Management
Ms. Coutry oversees asset management for the growing portfolio of HN Capital hotels. She joined the team after working closely with HN Capital in her prior role with W Dallas – Victory. With 35 years in hospitality, including 20 with Marriott International and The Ritz-Carlton, her experience spans roles in sales and operations in several companies, including General Manager and Regional VP of Sales & Marketing. Through international and domestic experience, she’s worked with prestigious hotels, restaurants, and spas. She additionally spoke publicly as an Ambassador for The Ritz-Carlton Leadership Center for over a decade, presenting best practices in service delivery and company culture to non-hotel organizations on behalf of the two-time Malcom Baldrige award-winning company. Ms. Coutry graduated with honors from Duke University and is fluent in several languages. She has moved 20 times in five countries, a resident of Dallas since July 1999. She stays active in the community, recently a board member of the Dallas Tourism Public Improvement District, and she has supported the Dallas Film Commission & Creative Industries for years, also volunteering her time as a host for DIFF (Dallas International Film Festival).
Managing Director & General Counsel
Mr. Christensen is Managing Director and General Counsel at HN Capital, where he is responsible for legal affairs and transaction structuring and execution. Mr. Christensen joined HN Capital after working closely with the HN Capital team in his previous role as Senior Vice President and General Counsel of Hunt Consolidated, Inc. While at Hunt, he served as a business and legal executive with responsibility for M&A, capital markets, direct investing, and compliance matters across multiple industries. Prior to Hunt, Mr. Christensen specialized in private equity, M&A and capital markets at Weil Gotshal and other top-tier international law firms. Mr. Christensen is a graduate of the University of Washington and Duke University School of Law. In giving back to the Dallas community, he serves as a board member of Community Partners of Dallas and the men’s auxiliary for Genesis Women’s Shelter in Dallas (HeROs) as well as the board of sponsors of Lumin Education. In addition, Mr. Christensen is an active alum of the Dallas Regional Chamber’s Leadership Dallas program.
Vice President & Acquisitions
Mr. Keiser is part of the investment team at HN Capital and is primarily involved in the acquisition, analysis and strategic planning activities of the firm’s various investment platforms. Prior to joining HN Capital, Mr. Keiser was a member of the investment team at Cook Children’s Health Care System in Fort Worth, TX, where he was responsible for investing on behalf of the hospital’s $2 billion endowment across a wide variety of asset classes and structures including equity, fixed income, hedge funds, real assets, and venture capital. Mr. Keiser earned his MBA from the Neeley School of Business at Texas Christian University, B.S in Engineering Science from Trinity University and is a CAIA Charter holder.
Ms. Carr helps with the day-to-day operations at HNCP. Additionally, she helps track all AUM for HNCP and is focused on marketing initiatives and overall operations of the newly acquired Dallas Design District. Prior to joining HNCP, Charlotte worked at Overseas Private Investment Corporation in Washington D.C. and Charter Holdings in Dallas. She graduated with a BBA in finance from Southern Methodist University, Cox School of Business in 2018.
Project Management / Construction
Mr. McCarthy is an accomplished Real Estate Executive with extensive experience in Operations, Construction and Development of Commercial Real Estate. Over the last twenty-five (25) years he has worked for some of the nation’s largest Real Estate Management and Development Companies with primary interest in the Multi-Family and Hospitality areas of the business. He has overseen and coordinated over $5 Billion in acquisitions and development of properties across the country. As a Senior Executive, he is well respected by his peers and has developed a reputation as an innovative problem solver and established a track record of turning around distressed real estate and management operations. Mr. McCarthy is a “hands-on” manager and has always met budgets and schedules without sacrificing the overall quality of the product. He is a master negotiator and has been able to reduce expenses/costs and increase revenues to make properties and projects more profitable and successful. Being that he has performed many different functions over his Real Estate career he has the unique advantage of seeing the business from a global aspect which makes him very adaptable and insightful in all areas of Property Operations, Construction, Development and Asset Management.
Operating Partner, Hotel Investment
Mr. Selman leads hotel investments and acquisition, with two decades at the forefront of acquisition, conceptualization, programming, development, and operation of lifestyle hotels. Prior to joining HN Capital Partners, he was Co-Founder and President of Sydell Group, where he led the creation and growth of the brands, instrumental in the development and management of Sydell Group’s real estate. His greatest competencies are in conceptualization and execution of lifestyle real estate, with a focus on hospitality, including deal execution, design and construction, food and beverage, and operations. Mr. Selman oversaw notable large-scale projects including the Park MGM/NoMad Las Vegas, a 3,000-key resort with 120,000 SF of meeting space, casinos (including a high-limit casino), four swimming pools, 10 outlets, a nightclub, and a 5,000-SF theater, and The Ned’s Club in London, a 252-room hotel with a 320,000-SF membership club in the heart of London’s Square Mile, encompassing over 12 outlets, gym and spa, two swimming pools, and extensive meeting facilities, Other projects include NoMad New York, Los Angeles and London, the LINE LA, DC and Austin, Freehand New York, LA, Miami, and Chicago, and Saguaro Palm Springs and Scottsdale. Mr. Selman additionally oversaw human resources and IT departments as well as Sydell’s core differentiator: Brand Marketing/Creative. Before co-founding Sydell Group, he was a partner at GFI Development, where he developed Ace Hotels (New York and Palm Springs), and he also worked as Director of Development at André Balazs Properties. Mr. Selman has a B. A. from Columbia University and M.S. from NYU’s Schack Institute of Real Estate. He is active in the Tanenbaum Organization and serves as Chairman Emeritus of Urban Upbound. He currently serves as a strategic advisor/board member to lifestyle-oriented businesses and is in the development team master-planning the Fishtown neighborhood of Philadelphia.
